Business Development and Networking Events in Brisbane

By mumsinbusiness

What a great success our first of Brisbane south side event was today.  It provided a great opportunity for women who are unable to attend our north side events to join our fantastic business building session and networking events.

Our speaker for both events was Kerry Townsend from Mums All Organised who encouraged us to “get all organised” and ready for a great year. Kerry had some great strategies and tips for us on:

  • Knowing where you are now and where you want to be
  • How to overcome obstacles
  • Determining smart business and life goals
  • Being committed to achieving your goals
  • Establishing an action plan for achieving your goals
  • Identifying tasks that waste our time and determining what is really necessary

In our Q & A section, Kerry and Alison Basson took time to answer questions from several of the ladies about some of their goals and how they might begin to start achieving them.

We set the group a challenge to go away, make a change by setting some goals and work towards achieving it.

So, if you  are a Mum in Business and want to talk and network with other mums in business, listen to inspirational speakers who share their business knowledge with you…and have an opportunity to win some prizes, then come along to our next event and see what we are all about.

Thank you for attending our fantastic new southside Brisbane event. I am sure you all enjoyed Kerry’s session and I hope you have been able to work on your goal setting. A challenge was set to do something different instead of running straight home and checking emails.

So here is what I did after the event yesterday. I went to lunch with Emma from Diva Promotions and then went shopping to Ikea for things for our new house. It was fun and exciting, I managed to bag a few bargains.

I look forward to hearing about your day.

Well I left after an interesting session that made me really rethink my activities and went to visit my niece who had provided all the eats for the opening of my Photographic Exhibition “Sun Kissed Waves and Other Coastal Delights” last Friday. I thought it was time I should take all her dishes back to her.

Last night I made a booking for Sat evening up the coast so I can do a photo shoot without having to get up at the crack of dawn to catch the sunrise at Shelly Beach.

I then extended the idea and today went shopping for work clothes for the cooler months instead of rushing out at the last minute to buy from the leftovers. Now I know do not have to stress on the days I expect clients or worry when someone turns up unannounced I will look good and yet still be comfy at the computer.

Thanks for yet another great session
    Margaret

I really enjoyed my first Mums in Business session on Wednesday at The Springwood. I’ve had goals in place for a while now but it became obvious to me that I have been procrastinating on them.

After the session and a bit of shopping I went to a small restaurant in Springwood and worked through the booklet that Kerry provided us with – then I wrote down my goals.

I woke up the next morning at 3am with a couple of ideas. I decided not to publish my book on parenting but create an instantly downloadable eBook instead – I get a lot of requests for help by email sent in the middle of the night.

I also decided to offer four free workshops at a nearby school – Cleveland State High School. It has an excellent, almost new Performing Arts Centre and Film & TV studio. I am in the process of negotiating the making of 4 DVD’s and CD’s of these workshops. I guess it is fair to say that less than 24 hours after creating my goals I have aleady failed to follow them. I am sure these ideas are better.

I want an audience of interested mums and dads and I also want to give them an opportunity to attend for free. I will even provide tea, coffee and biscuits.

    The four topics are:
    Creating Calm
Why Don’t My Kids Do As the Are Told? (Am I talking in Swahili?)
Help Your Child Learn, Achieve Success & Feel Confident
    What Children REALLY Need

I would like to ask MIB to for any other ideas or topics that you feel are relevant and helpful for mums of today. If you are interested in attending any of these free 2 hour workshops (to be held on Sunday afternoons) please let me know. When I get enough expressions of interest – I already have quite a few, I will be able to organize things a little more.

Thanks Kerry & the other mums who were at The Springwood on Wednesday – you really helped me get off my bum!
